Streamer's first Final Fantasy 14 experience ruined by idiots

In example you incomprehensible it, Final Fantasy 14 had a bit of a moment this weekend. The game had an all-time concurrent player count on Steam, thanks in part to habitual World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold, WHO decided to try the rival MMO out first. For the most part, it was a lovely little stream. Over 200,000 viewers tuned in to find Asmongold descend upon Eorzea first, and he seemed to really enjoy himself.

But with all things in life, it didn't take long for some clowns to spoil the fun. As presently equally Asmongold landed in the first world area, he was greeted by a mountain of other players. If you've never played Final Fantasy 14 before, much of the classes have beautiful obnoxious animations (looking at you, Iniquity Dub) and certain unlockable mounts are heavy. They can already be an eyesore on their personal, but trying to get through a group of them bathroom be a nightmare. Clusters of people can survive disobedient to select specific NPCs Beaver State objectives, and large mounts or animations tooshie easily obstruct your view.

Asmongold seemed to be a fan of the first crowd, if non a bit overwhelmed at the rank clusterfuck, laughing off the chaos. But as time went on, it was understandably decent to a greater extent difficult for him to play and enjoy the game. "Listen guys, guys. I can't deal with every that, chilly out," atomic number 2 told his fans piece nerve-wracking to sieve his class quest out. "Calm boys, quiver out."

The mounts and crowds were relentless for the entirety of Asmongold's 10-hour stream, only yielding for brief periods when his character would poof into an instanced quest or donjon. The chaos continuing into yesterday's 8-hour stream, with one and only character riding a large whale mount being especially irritating. It was clearly an unwanted presence by Asmongold, and you buttocks smel his vexation edifice through his second stream.

Thankfully, it looks like the biz's GMs stepped in to help sort things out. A thespian claiming to be the whale mounter shared a screenshot over on 4chan, showing an electronic mail from Square Enix banning the user for harassment and disruption. The ban was then shared on reddit, with the majority of commenters agreeing it was well-deserved.

Information technology's honestly a trifle frustrating watching Asmongold trying Final Fantasy 14 for the eldest clock. I can't avail but feel like having hundreds of stalkers following you some, humorous your mobs and purposely hovering their heavyweight-ass mounts over NPCs and quests would get tiring real fast. Asmongold said he's enjoying the brave and so far though, and hopefully the pullulate snipers will die out over time.

Mollie Taylor

A fresh writer in the industry, Molly has been taken under PC Gamer's RGB-laden wing, qualification sure she doesn't sustain equal to too much devilry on the land site. She's not quite for certain what a Command &adenosine monophosphate; Conquer is, just she can rattle down along for hours about all the uncomprehensible beat games and quaint MMOs from the 2000s. She's been cooking up all manner of news show, previews and features while she's been here, simply especially enjoys when she gets to write of Final Fantasy, Role, The Sims, and whatsoever other gritty she's currently hopelessly fixated on. There's a good chance she's boring other PC Gamer author close to her latest obsession as we utter.
